Lifting Threads

Polydioxanone (PDO)

A non-surgical, minimally invasive material and technique to generate the patient’s natural collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production. The procedure offers a visible “lift” and natural smoothing of the face. Instead of removing loose facial skin surgically, the lifting thread suspends it by pulling the skin back slightly, therefore lifting and tightening the treated area(s). PDO absorbable sutures have long been used in dental surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery for re-approximation of cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues for over 30 years. The threads provide an IMMEDIATE visible lift while also results in smoothing and bio-stimulation of collagen production through neocollagenesis.  Additional results include skin rejuvenation and bio-stimulation, increase in facial volume, skin tone enhancement, and skin and pore tightening. PDO threads provide an excellent treatment option for patients with sagging skin and collagen loss in the middle to lower face which adversely affects the lip, smile and jaw lines. Typical treatment areas include treating “jowls”, jawline sculpting, and lifting of the mid-face. Results can last 12-18 months on average.
